Spring 2013 2D2 Production Introduction

Well its been awhile!
For this semester I'm anticipating a few challenges that are most likely to come up.  The first and foremost being communication, I believe communicating is going to be a challenge as most of us haven't worked on a group animation, the max being 2 people.  Other than this, if we all buckle down and get our shots done, I don't believe there will be any problems.  Opportunities on the other hand are going to be everywhere.  This is really the first time any of us have had the chance to shine and do exactly what we think/know what we want to do.  We get to flex our individual muscles and see what we really love to do in the process.  Being that I've actually already worked on a few outside projects, I feel I'll be best utilized in pre-production and character design/character animation.

What I'm hoping to accomplish this semester is simply getting over that fear of the blank page.  Just sitting down and animating because of how much I enjoy it rather than for a project/client/class.  I've been to this place of zen a few times, but I'd like to see it become a permanent place that I can go to at the drop of a hat. I love animation and all facets of it, but I seem to have developed a fear for it.  I want to over come this fear and then have a wonderful animation piece to show for it.

Until next time!

Myself Vs Stag!

Well, the newest animation I will be working on is a piece that consists of myself either kissing my main character stag or myself fighting with with him.. So far, not sure which and currently attempting to work out the kinks.

Essentially The animation is myself transported on my canvas clueless as to how I got there.  I meet up with Stag and we do our thing.  The punch line is the cut back to reality to show what was really going on, which right now will either myself destroying my animation desk or myself making out with my animation desk and my classmates reaction.

So, this is stag!

New post will be up soon!

Cooper out.

Camera pushes in on a mountain ravine covered in snow on a shadow of a character in the snow with a few silhouettes scattering the snowy landscape
The Camera pushes in closer to reveal a Hunter marooned in the snow under a tree pulling his clothing tighter around himself, all the while shivering from the cold.

The warrior begins to look to his left.
To his left he sees a moose scuffing the ground looking for something to eat and obviously doesn’t notice the Hunter
The Hunter grasps his bow loudly and the Moose scampers off startled
The Hunter looks to his right
Camera follows his view and stops to his right where a bear is also sitting in the cold who was also watching the moose run off.
The Hunter stares at the bear in an over the shoulder shot and pushes in
The Camera cuts to a LS of the Hunter and Bear to show their distance and begins to push out.

The camera switches to a LS revealing that the object they had slammed into was the same moose from the beginning.
The Bear lets out a sigh of relief seeing that he had not in fact killed the hunter. The bear attempts to wipe the blood of his paw using his fur.
The Hunter wipes the blood from his face to showing an expression of confidence after realizing what just happened and smiles at the bear and points at the object embedded with his knife between them MS
